Join me for an intimate consultation group, just for Level 1 graduates.

Therapists face a lot of pressure to get it right. Don’t say the wrong thing. Don’t alienate your client. Don’t lose focus.

My mission is to help therapists talk about sex. That means, every day, I ask therapists to risk getting it wrong.

It’s a leap. It takes real courage, grit, and integrity. And it means that, sometimes, 30 minutes into the session, you realize “Shoot. I need backup.”

We’ve all been there. It doesn’t mean you’re doing a bad job; it just means you’re doing something new.

That’s where ATSIP Level 2 comes in. It’s simple: you bring me your toughest cases, we play together, and I help get you unstuck. We’ll track your progress together as your caseload evolves, and celebrate your successes as your skill and confidence grows!

ATSIP Level 2 is for you if:

  • You need more time to deeply digest the ATSIP Level 1 materials
  • You want my backup with your caseload and growth process
  • You want to be truly adept working with sex issues
  • You want to get your awkward learning curve out of the way in a warm, safe environment where it’s ok to mess up
  • You want to connect with a community of growth-minded colleagues

ATSIP Level 2 is a consultation community built around your cases and challenges.

Here’s the breakdown:

  • Meet twice a month, for 90 minutes each session
  • Get my feedback on your caseload, or sit back and watch me unpack your colleagues’ challenges
  • Catch up with replays of every session on our private course site
  • Maintain access to the Level 1 course site, including fresh expert interviews and any other new materials, for as long as you're enrolled
  • Take your pick between two groups when you enroll — one meeting at 11 am CST, and one at 1 pm CST. (Once you make your selection, you’ll be committed to that group and meeting time.)
  • Enjoy lots of fascinating conversations with a tight-knit community of therapists dedicated to professional growth
  • Earn 24 AASECT CEUs after your first eight months + 3 CEUs per month through AASECT* thereafter (upon passing the learning assessments)

Plus some more fun stuff:

  • Discuss whatever you want with me and the group. Polyamory, kink, infidelity, porn, physiological sex issues, really knotty relational stuff – whatever you’re wondering about, it’s on the table!
  • Get invites to new expert interview tapings
  • Enjoy discounts, freebies, and priority access to new stuff — when I’m planning something cool, the Level 2 consulting group is the first to know.
  • Earn an ATSIP Level 2 badge after you complete eight months of learning assessments
  • Be listed as a sex-aware therapist, coach, or other provider in my Provider Locator (which helps new clients find you).

This is the by far best way to consult with me and get my feedback on your cases as they develop.

*This program meets the requirements of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) and is approved for 1.5 CE credits per meeting. These CE credits may be applied toward AASECT certification and renewal of certification.

Learn in Community

We learn better in community. That’s why I built this group — to make it easier for you to take risks, lean into the uncomfortable spaces, and figure out what worked and what didn’t. You’ll have my backup and support with each new experiment you try.

The best therapists in the world need to consult, because we’re human beings, and we all bring our own stuff into the room. We can’t do our work in isolation. We all need someone to help us get unstuck.

Our work can be very lonely, and it asks a lot of us. Having a regular standing engagement with a group of warm, kind, super-smart professionals is exactly what I need to lift my spirits and recharge my battery. I want to share that same uplifting experience with you.

ATSIP Level 2 is a consultation community. This is a group with a wealth of perspectives, areas of expertise, modalities, and cultural lenses. We lift each other up, share the struggle, and celebrate our wins together.

My favorite part is getting to watch participants grow. Therapists who struggled to find the courage to do their first Will Lily assessment are now seasoned experts, helping the next group of new participants find their feet.

Hear from our community:

Working with you, Martha, has completely transformed how I think and feel about my work as a therapist, and my work as a human. The fact that you'd give space in a group for a topic like "therapist imposter syndrome" shows the realness of your work, and the care you have for those doing this work.

Jess Levith, LMFT - Oakland, CA

Thank you, Martha for the deep and supportive case discussion in this group. You opened my eyes to new ways of applying the foundational principles of differentiation, default networks, habituation, and patterns of stimulus-response in sex. This was yet another AHA! experience, and I'm so grateful to have you supporting my work!

Ellen Lourie, LCSW - Brooklyn, NY

Words cannot express the impact Martha has had on me, not only as a mental health professional, but as a human being. She is, hands down, one of the most influential people in my life; she is a model of human kindness and professional integrity. I've learned greatly about human sexuality and healthy relationships through her razor-sharp intuition and clinical and teaching skills. It is a mighty combination! I am grateful for the community she has built through the ATSIP Level 2 Consulting Groups, and I look at my time there with love and appreciation.

Vanessa Harvell, LMFT - Los Angeles, California

I find my connection to this group to be invaluable and crucial to the ongoing success of my work with clients.  The support is grounding and helps me to keep striving to be the best I can be at working with such difficult issues.  I am especially grateful for Martha’s leadership and expertise, as well as her warm and very real approach to the material.

Scott Ferguson, LCSW - New York and California

What Participants Are Saying

You also get this one on one, expertise from Martha, and you get to understand how her brain works, how she articulates a case. One of the things I love about Martha's training is she teaches in a way that you just can adapt it easily into your clinical practice.

Letta Venegas, LCSW - Los Angeles, CA

The best implementation support that I have received in my training as a clinician is through Martha's ATSIP Level 2 consulting group. This group has been game-changing for me. It's given me a safe place to practice skills with a kind mentor dedicated to my development. It's also where I bring time-sensitive, challenging questions that allow me to better address my current clients skillfully. So, if you're on the fence or unsure about the value, rest assured, group membership is worth it. Groups are set up to be accessible. For example, the days of the meetings rotate to allow for flexibility in your schedule. And if you miss a meeting, you can watch the recording and still apply for the CE credits. And after 8 months in the group, you're eligible for a Level 2 badge. It's a setup that honors both the learner and the complexity of the learning. I encourage you to join a group, your practice will thank you!

Jess Cleeves, MAT, LCSW - Denver, CO

Martha, learning from you has been deeply meaningful. The 15-week Assessing and Treating Sex Issues in Psychotherapy training followed by eight months in the ATSIP Level 2 consulting group have fundamentally changed how I think, assess, and intervene with couples. Your clarity, steadiness, and depth of knowledge have expanded my clinical lens in ways that feel lasting. I’m working with couples now with a level of precision and confidence that I truly did not have before.

I so appreciate your modeling — the way you hold complexity without losing structure, and the way you stay grounded while talking about topics that many clinicians avoid. That has influenced me more than you probably know.

I’m very grateful for you, your team, and the community you’ve built. This experience has significantly shaped the way I practice.

Malisa Shreve, LCSW - Newark, DE

Thank you for such an amazing training program and the continued support with the consultation groups. I presented a case last week, and the help I got was phenomenal. I have done many trainings in my time as a LCSW, and the ASTIP training is one of the most relevant and specific I have done. I take elements from the training program as well as from the consultation groups into all of my cases, regardless of whether or not we are talking explicitly about sex (i.e. aspirational goals, "what do I believe now?," differentiation). I am in other consultation groups and recommend the ASTIP training to any therapist interested in working on couples issues, sex, or helping clients to become more integrated in themselves.

Abby Zeveloff, LCSW - Salt Lake City, UT

I'm so grateful to Martha that she does not limit her teaching to didactic materials. In my consulting group, Martha actively continues to help me make sense of, apply, and reinforce what I learned in ATSIP Level 1 when I feel stuck dealing with actual client sexual issues in my own practice. I feel I've grown so much under her guidance.

Nanaho Sawano, LCSW - Jersey City, NJ

I appreciate Martha's warmth, timekeeping, and good boundaries. I feel good hands on the reins in this group -- Martha's leadership makes all the difference to my feeling of gaining both community and skill. I feel "seen" and included, and I take away immediate skills/tools/conceptualization ideas that I use on my couples that week.

Sarah Lincoln Pattee, MA, LPC - Portland, Oregon

This is one of the most important and relevant courses I have taken post grad. I love being in Martha's ongoing consultation group, and highly recommend her to every therapist I know.

Nicolette Sweeney Willard, M.A., LMFT - San Francisco, CA

Through complex cases, the position Martha takes is very centered and grounded in who she is as a therapist. This inspires me to take a stance and confront my own biases and blindspots, and energizes me to look deeper into my own self as a therapist.

Elise Thompson

What a breath of fresh air! In addition to review of topical information, the amount of nuance and depth in modeling and giving language to the process of differentiation throughout relationships is such a master class.
