Do you feel ineffective, disenchanted, or disconnected from the kind of work you want to be doing?
Stuck — in your practice, in your personal life, in your professional development?Â
The world is so overwhelming lately, and you’re the sponge that soaks up all your clients’ stress, on top of everything life throws your way. Maybe it feels like things keep piling up, and there’s no way to hit the “stop” button.Â
Lack of insight isn’t your problem.
You have plenty of emotional intelligence, but getting yourself out of the rut takes a whole different skillset. Let us show you a new way forward, so you can get back in a groove that feels good.
This group is a love letter to clinicians who feel underresourced.
As therapists and coaches, practically everything we do is focused on helping somebody else. This group is something different. It’s centered on your goals, and dedicated to helping you create a change that feels meaningful to you, whether in your work life, your personal life, or your relationships.
A Change Process for Each Aspect of Life
Let us help you find agency, wherever you’re stuck. We’ll work with you to identify an actionable goal that will make a real difference for your life, design micro-experiments to move you forward, and create support and accountability for your change process so you stay on track.Â
By the time this group ends, we’re confident you’ll have made significant progress. You’ll feel less overwhelmed and more empowered. You’ll feel more aligned with who you want to be and how you want to show up, in your work, in your relationships, and for yourself.Â
By walking through the change process yourself, you’ll understand better how to apply it with your clients. You’ll experience the transformation personally, so you can bring it home in session.
Meet your instructors
Martha Kauppi is a marriage and family therapist, educator, author, speaker, and AASECT-certified sex therapist and supervisor. She trains therapists all over the world to work more effectively with relational intimacy challenges and sex issues.
Martha has reinvented herself many times over, from her career as a midwife, to her work as a glass artist, to her third career as a therapist and therapist trainer. Personal change cuts across all the work she does, and she finds the change process particularly enthralling, fascinating, and empowering. She uses the personal change process outlined in this course in all her clinical work, in her training for therapists, and in her own life.Â
Martha has a lifelong career in health and sexuality, and is a senior trainer of the Developmental Model of Couples Therapy. She is the author of Polyamory: A Clinical Toolkit for Therapists (and Their Clients).
When not training, recording, or consulting, Martha can be found in her art studio, garden, sauna, or in the kitchen making a nice soup.
Jess Cleeves, MAT LCSW, is an educator, consultant, author, and therapist, guided by a lifelong obsession with relationships. Originally trained as a biologist, her first career was as a teacher; with a Master of Arts in Teaching from Stanford University, she taught for two decades in impacted public schools, and facilitated teacher training at the university level. All of this work with families, communities, and learning fueled her desire to help people make meaningful changes in their lives at the most granular level.
Jess became a social worker with the express view of supporting partnerships as the smallest unit of community organizing. Currently, Jess helps people in Utah and Colorado with relationship counseling, and people from all over with psychoeducation and facilitation for relationships, teachers/people in helping professions, and organizations of all types to envision and enact healing, humane, human-to-human care. She has found the change process you’ll be learning in this course to be a transformative tool for improving her relationships, her approach to her business, and her clinical work.
